We had a great day – The City Challenge was stimulating, testing and above all great fun. We learnt a lot about our city and even more about ourselves!

Miles Taylor, Taylor Made Solutions, Bristol

Jim fixed it for us! It was training that made a real difference; we actually remember all the content of it and we are still putting it into practice.

Black Carers Project Team

1:1 coaching from SWEET TLC made all the difference to the way I prioritise my work and use the resources available to me. I would not hesitate to recommend SWEET as they represent excellent value for time and money and have an understanding of the needs of all sectors.

Sweet City Challenge

It's serious fun ....in Bristol, Bath, Cardiff or wherever you are based....

Thanks for a really good day out - it was like going on holiday in our own city! The problem solving aspects of the City Challenge bought out unexpected qualities in our team but best of all everyone had lots of fun.

Rowena Harris, Director, BJ Associates (UK) Ltd

Sweet City Challenge is an activity based team building experience from which everyone will gain enjoyment and personal benefit.

Each team will have to use a combination of strategy, planning, delegation, communication, time management and project management skills to be successful. The day is designed to be a fun-filled, interactive, team development event with plenty of interesting locations to explore and delicious food to help you on your way.

You will meet in a central location for coffee and pastries where your trainers will greet you and the fun begins. Each team will be provided with everything needed including a map, training notes, a digital camera, notebook and pens, but after that you are on your own and the clock is ticking!

Participants do not need to have any previous knowledge of the chosen city. Sweet City Challenge is equally suited to lifelong residents or first time visitors to the city. A typical day will start at 9.30am and finish at approximately 4pm but tailored packages are also available.

Typical City Challenge activities include:

Treasure Hunt

You will be given a number of clues to solve – who? what? where? when?

Will you find the seahorse or discover for whom the night bells toll? You will come across a mixture of the historic, the industrial, the modern and the intriguing. You will also have the opportunity to discover some of the very best buildings and attractions that your city has to offer.

Photo Challenge

Equipped with a digital camera, your team will need to keep your eyes open and let your imaginations run wild. You might gain valuable minutes by recreating works of art or being crowned wildlife photographer of the year!

Team Tasks

Each team will also be given a number of tasks to complete within the time allowed. Who will do what? When will tasks be achieved en route? Some team tasks will require lateral thinking while others will involve you in discovering curious things about your team members and will even involve members of the public.

What is included?

  • Backpacks with all necessary equipment
  • A training session at both the start and end of the day
  • Facilitators on hand for the day
  • Venue hire
  • Continental Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • CD Rom with all the team's photos
  • Follow-up report

Our staff development sessions had gone a bit flat - we needed a change and a stimulating event and Sweet City Challenge certainly provided that with lots to build on for the future.

Jeremy Iles, Director, Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens

One of our prime aims was to team build through learning and having fun. Those boxes were definitely ticked and the overall enjoyment people had throughout the day continues to live with us.

Tony Rees, Head of Personnel and Training, Freeways
